Synopsis

After a debilitating stroke, author and Elle Magazine editor Jean-Dominique Bauby is severely paralyzed, left only with the ability to blink his left eye. However, with his mental faculties still intact, Bauby is undeterred. With the help of a transcriber, Bauby tells the story of his life, thus illuminating the personal triumphs of a man whose soaring vision shaped his will to achieve a life without boundaries. From director Julian Schnabel comes this remarkable and inspiring true story about the awesome power of imagination.
